SERVER DOWN
Jun. 9th, 2005 01:12 amUgh.. So I went to run my standard Debian update on the server to see if any new packages were out. Low and behold, they've upgraded Debian! This means that close to 400 new packages were downloaded and installed. Unfortunately, things didn't go too smoothly. Services started to crash shortly after the install, and after three hours of hammering at it and losing more and more services, I tried a reboot of the machine.
It hasn't come back up. Crap.
The good news is that I'm in California right now, so the chances of me going down to the machine and giving it its OS overhaul are very likely. The bad news is, the server is down at least for the night. I'll leave an e-mail to FRAAR in hopes someone can go in in the morning and poke the local console to see whats wrong. I'll get it fixed, I just don't know how fast things will come back up.
SO! anything hosted on that box (which is pretty much everything) is down at least for the night. Sorry guys =/
