So I'm looking at a revamp of Yiffit. Folks are still amazingly using the site, but I think it could be much better with some more attention. One of the major complaints is the name.. SO! I'm looking for input from folks.

Also up for changing on this is updating the code, bringing the site up to date with Artspots, including pulling the same merger they did. Also a complete firing of all reviewer staff and hiring only artists >.> (You'd think this one would be obvious but well.. learn from your mistakes >.>)

If you're going to change the name (and you know how important brand identity is), I'd bring it into line with the WhateverSpots naming convention. So, SmutSpots, PornSpots, UncensoredSpots.

I have issues with the affected jargon that "yiff" and "furvert" are part of.

This particular train of thought made me officially vote "other" though -- if any rename at all, "erospots" sounds a bit smoother than "erotospots".

Having a classy name is important. It's just embarrassing to have a gallery on a site with an embarrassing name. Back before FAP imploded, I knew a lot of people who hated FA but didn't want to switch because the shame of having a gallery on a site called FAP was just too great to bear.

I almost voted to change to furverts.net because that implies the sites would merge and that would be awesome, except I'm not a particular fan of that name either. You should merge them and make them both into one of the classier names--either of the blue names listed, one of the SomethingSpots names pitched in the comments, whatever. What it changes to isn't as much of a priority in my mind so long as it's something polite.

Ya I totally agree on all points here. Yes the sites will be merged into one site like Artspots did. I think that was a very smart move on their part. And I agree on the embarrassing name. This is why I wanted a rename. I'm leaning towards Blue Taboo. Its a name that rhymes so is easy to remember, is about taboo art, but is a word that's publicly speakable.
