So?

Even the price of the "Super" grade is still less what we have to pay for "Regular" up here in Canada.

We're paying about $5.05/gallon now.

Psst. Their healthcare system kinda sucks ass for things that aren't life threatening.

Seriously glad my car is so god damned tiny. We're up to 4.25 or so here in SoCal.

Right- but you can buy privatized healthcare if your needs are greater then that. I have to pay $400 a month for healthcare that kinda sucks ass for things that aren't life threatening.

The concept that without healthcare in America, if you slip and fall off a bridge and break every bone in your foot, you could be stuck with a quarter of a million in debt sickens me. I'd welcome the Canadian healthcare system.

where the heck do you live?
It's at $1.25 a liter here which is about $4.75 a gallon
I won't bother with the USD conversion since our dollars are about a cent off..

Guess either way I'm just happy I drive a little toyota ;)

The Vancouver area, which tends to be pretty high in the gas price.

However, the national average for Canada is still around the $5 mark. See http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx

While Ontario may still be ~8c/L cheaper, it's still higher in the Maritimes, the Prairies (AB doesn't count) and out west here, which pulls that average higher.

It's "only" $3.89 here.

Times like these, I'm glad I don't have a driver's license, a working vehicle, or the need to travel more than five miles at a time.

::hmms and caluculates:: Lets see... there's about 3.7 liters in a gallon, a liter of fuel (normal, mind you, super's even more) is at €1.486... now lets mutiply that up to a gallon, that's about €5.49... Thats about $8.48... Okay, you still got a while 'till you got our prices... ;>

Still, whereas here it's been a process of several years to get to that price it was just a few month for you, wasn't it?

Hmm, let's see...

You have: 64.41 USD / (14.982 US gallon)
You want: USD/(US gallon)
* 4.299159

$4.299/gallon, which is what the pump says. (I only just noticed the price was displayed there!)

You have: 64.41 USD / (14.982 US gallon)
You want: GBP/litre
* 0.59460293

Okay, so you're paying the equivalent of 59p/litre.

You have: GBP/USD
You want:
Definition: 1.91004

And the exchange rate is roughly right. (Actually about 1.96ish at the moment but that only makes a difference of about 1p/litre.)

Petrol prices over here have been over 100p/litre for some months now, as far as I remember. Unleaded was at an average of about 115p/litre last week, according to Google's cache of www.petrolprices.com's front page... So, look at it this way: you're getting almost half-price fuel over there! :)

But then, I have no car or motorbike so the price of fuel only affects me indirectly. :]

Even with the B.J.'s wholesale discount gas, I still ended up paying $3.86 USD/gallon over here.

Having to drive about three or four times a week over to campus which is about 30 miles each way is eating into my funds fast. :(

Even so, I'd still rather do the drive and be on campus in 30 minutes compared to taking a bus and taking three HOURS for the same trip. :(
