So, I was wrong in my last post. MyFursona is awesome. They've done something huge for us.

Because of them, and the constant crashes and folks ranting to me about them, Furspots has gotten a major production boost, and we should have a very preliminary site up by the end of the week. Negative energy towards one site has again been turned into positive energy for another. Rather than just complaining about them, we're actually doing something about it. Some very talented coders and designers are working very hard this week, and have been for a bit now.

I'm gonna hafta make brownies or something!

Also [livejournal.com profile] furspots!

You know I think I really have become rather jaded in the last few years.. I guess its making up for being shy before.. Even if I do come off as an ass now and then, I really do like this fandom. My goals are always to give something back, to do things right, never half-assed. I want the best for folks.

Okay enough sappyness! Go join the comm!

Provided you continue to offer new people the same opportunities you offered others before, you are not jaded.

It is when you stop being fair to those you do not know that you become jaded and less beautiful.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Most will not get 100% agreement and disagreement. The fact that you're saying. 'This is not good, here's why. Oh, and here's my way to make it better.' say tons more than anyone who just says 'This sucks.' or 'This rocks.'
Mindless Yes-men and Nay-sayers are usually never liked. Those that go forward and make things better for everyone are greatly appreciated. Please keep it up, Inaki.

Which puts QAEs in a tough spot: They know how to find problems and describe them well; they know how things ought to be. But we don't always have the coding skills to actually fix the problem, which is really the job of the engineer. And if we do start to write code, who then will test our work?

(I'm not a mindless naysayer. When a bug gets fixed and the result looks really good or works elegantly, I'll say so in the notes field when I confirm it. But beware: I know who the good software engineers are in this organization. And I know who has learned just enough computer programming to earn a paycheck.)

Argh. Today's build is broken again. :( I gotta go and figure out what happened and splain it to the dev engineer.
