MyFursona sucks. Its an out of the box package someone slapped together in an hour thats lacking in almost anything useful, and more importantly has Fursona in the name. HAET MADE UP WORDS.

There's another Myspace clone that popped up recently too. It was also fail.

Furspots (working title, suggestions welcome) is opening for beta soon. Very soon.

The word 'Fursona' conjures up everything wrong with the fandom. Egotism, denial that sweet taste of crazy that you get just from being in a chatroom with one. That lovely flavor of disconnection from reality. All the crazy and stupid and idiotic that can be distilled from the fandom as a whole.

I actually thought this myfursona garbage was built on the same engine. The UI elements are identical... I'd accuse the site of code-scraping from YI/AS judging by how some of the elements are handled.

Much of what I dislike might be wh at is 'cool' to younger kids.

It's too bubbly, too large, takes up too much space, too rounded, it looks like a networking site for elementary school kids when its focus is porn :P It violates the rule of having icons with no explanation, any icon should have a text of some sort near it to explain what it is, we're not psychic

Personally, I hate myspace, so whatever you can do to make the layout NOT like myspace which I find HORRENDOUS to try and navigate through. I kinna liked the layout of the myfursona site, but it needs friends privacy options and a better notifying system. (not a bagillion emails when someone adds you, an onsite notification.) I liked how it was set up more like an art site or something pretty much. haha. But oh god, we only joined it to make fun of the horrible pictures people had uploaded of themselves. XD

I don't have an issue with MyFursona. The layout could be worlds better. But I like an even mix of colors. Not just WHITE and oh, hey...here's some black.

The whole site itself does look very out-of-the-box, however. Especially with the fact that many things that should be there by default on a social networking site (notifications of comments, being able to approve those who have friended you, being able to reply to comments right there on your main page instead of going to the other user's page and replying there, etc., etc....) were simply not implemented from the get-go. If the webmaster wanted the whole thing to be a bit of a work-in-progress, that should've been stated. But it sort of launched as-is, with no 'hey, we've got things we're working on! don't expect everything at once!'.

I mean, unless that was stated. I'm not sure. I could be talking out of my ass for all I know. XD

On the subject of the name? 'Fursona' is one of the FEW 'furry words' I actually don't have an issue with. But the name itself sort of makes it seem like it's NOT a social site, and more of a site to make accounts for all your characters of something bizzare like that.

I dump on websites because I'm a website designer. Its like critiquing another artist's work. Only its the fandom, so sometimes bluntness is needed.

Its perfectly fine for me to make negative comments on another website in my personal journal for the same reason its perfectly fine for you to come to mine and call me on it. =)
