Themes are a bit of a pain in the arse to me. I'd like to fit in with them but my costumes aren't general animal fursuits that I can dress how I want, the clothing is part of the costume and defines the characters. Isambaard wouldn't be him if I'd have dress him up in a kimono for FC. Amsel would look really really wrong if I'd swapped his prussian uniform for a tuxedo at Eurofurence 13. I think I'll only be on theme by luck really!

Theme is more than just character, though! It's also about presenting a consistent course of programming that supports the chosen theme in live performances and panel discussions, something many conventions seem to fail so miserably at. Join us, help influence convention themes for your own benefit!

You know, the themes that where suggested in the post have mostly already been done. To me, the theme is there to help others get into the con a little more. Especially for newbies.

If people want more involvement with themes and theme selection. I suggest they get off their asses and get on staff. Seriously, it's not easy picking these themes and someone is ALWAYS going to get mad because they didn't pick their theme.
