It's a 'hang drum', apparently. They're extremely limited in availability, $1500 plus shipping from the US distributor, and you might have to wait until 2008 or 2009 to get one. Or you might be able to find one off ebay for $2k+
Wow. I wonder if there's a way to make one, then. I mean, the materials don't look terribly unusual, from a cursory and admittedly completely uninformed glance, not unless there's something special inside. I'll have to look into this, though.
