Flying out of SNA is a fun experience. They position the plane on the end of the runway, then lock the wheels and spin the engines up to full before releasing the brakes. Then they shoot down the short runway at full acceleration, a hard climb to just 1000 feet, then leveling off and dropping the engines back to almost an idle, the previously agressive plane lightly gliding over the residential areas of Orange County, out over the ocean before powering up ad climbing again.

Sooo fun.

Ahh, the old John Wayne. I always loved the part where you get closer to the boarding areas by being in a car than on foot. And landing... You could swear they were piloting the airplane through a maze in which they were not allowed to use the engines...

SNA. The only airport that has a portable building as part of the terminal.

Also. Holy fuck. You were in SNA?! I live quite fucking literally a half mile south of it.

Yeah, talk about an adrenaline rush! I've flown out of there twice, and I was a nervous wreck each time!

Landing is just as fun. The only thing more fun is being on the freeway. As the plane passes about 10 feet above your head.

Very true... :) It's like, "Wow... that's a very large aircraft!" :D
