Okay, that didn't really say anything about the movie. Looked like a spartan music video. I think the preview assumes you've read the graphic novel and so doesn't bother with a plot summary.
It's based on the opening of the Greco-Persian Wars' mainland invasion. The story of Sparta is pretty darn long, and goes on for several hundred years, although their power declines after the Peloponnesian war. There are several great books concerning the Battle of Thermopylae, best of which is Pressman's Gates Of Fire.
Miller's version, while not terribly true to history, is fuckin' awesome and I totally can't wait for this movie.
This is going to rock hard core. They took what they learned from making "Sin City" and applied it to this movie. Most of it was filmed on a green screen with CG backgrounds and lots of color tweaking, but I think the look of the movie is great.
