What we REALLY need are construction bots we can just drop out there and they build our moonbase for us before we even get there. Drop some on the moon, or Ceres, or Mars...
Fuse moondust or martian dust into concrete, build half the base underground, install pressure chambers inside partial underground habitats for double security against micrometeorite impacts...
