So ya.. I've gone back to windows. I'm a bad panda. I learned a lot about linux though, and will likely try again once I have some more knowledge on how certian things work. I got almost everything I do in windows working.

i had linux going for a while, but i ran into a few issues (game performance, wine incompatability, etc) so i'm having to stick with windows too.

After 10 years of dealing with Linux (after reluctantly moving to it from IRIX), I'm running a pretty recent version of NT (read: Server 2003).

Don't feel so bad. Linux sucks pretty hardcore.

Tsk tsk!

You could not pay me enough money to use Windows these days. It's just so foreign and weird. It's like Bizarro OS. I'd be unable to get anything done.

ME AM USING DRIVE LETTERS AND BACKSLASHES!

I'm thoroughly corrupted. :)

I should add, uh, in all fairness: I don't use desktop Linux either. I'm using OS X right now, even though I'm not exactly a big fan of Apple either. :)

Oh man, I miss IRIX! I worked at SGI for a few years, when the Indigo2 and Indy were the main desktop machines. Good times.

The only thing that gets me about OS X is that the kernel sucks. (Linux is very much the same way here FWIW.)

If Apple were to move away from Mach and to something a lot less sucktacular, I'd jump over.

Right tool for the right job, as always. No reason to fret as long as you get shit done, a fact that seems to elude most anyone who seriously fights about OSes. :)

Then again, I run Windows, OS X, and Linux, all of which talk to each other through an unholy marriage of VNC and Synergy. So in my case, the right tool is EVER tool . ^_^
